gdtoolkit (gdformat / gdlint)
What It Is
Scony/godot-gdscript-toolkit
— the GDScript formatter (gdformat) and linter (gdlint). This is the
project's only lint/format tooling for the GDScript side (the Docusaurus
site under site/ has its own build check, see
docs/tools/implementer.md).
How to Reach It
Installed through mise, pinned in mise.toml alongside Godot itself:
[tools]
godot = "latest"
"pipx:gdtoolkit" = "4.5.0"
mise exec -- gdformat <path> # rewrite in place
mise exec -- gdformat --check <path> # exit 1 if unformatted, no rewrite
mise exec -- gdlint <path>
Use mise exec --. A bare gdformat/gdlint works only where mise's
shims are on PATH; inside an agent's sandboxed shell they usually are not,
and the bare command fails with command not found even though the tool is
installed. mise exec -- resolves it from mise.toml either way.
mise install needs network and a writable mise data directory, so it may
have to be run outside a sandboxed shell. Once installed, running the
tools needs neither — they execute fine under the sandbox.
Notes
Version pinned to 4.5.0 (gdtoolkit's 4.x line targets Godot 4 syntax,
matching this project's Godot 4.7). Bump the pin deliberately, the same way
plug.gd pins GUT to an exact tag, rather than floating on 4.*.
gdlint enforces a 100-character line limit, comments included — see
コーディング規約.
gdlint has no editor hook behind it, unlike gdformat. CI runs both
(.github/workflows/gdscript-lint.yml).
